Amid a very public battle over her sexual assault allegations, Kesha surprised fans at Coachella with a powerful, unscheduled performance over the weekend.

Donning a black hat, billowing Stevie Nicks-esque dress, and a mane of rainbow-colored hair, the pop star joined Zedd onstage Saturday to sing his hit single “True Colors.” It was her first public musical performance in months, coming after her attempts to sever ties with Sony following her claims that producer Dr. Luke sexually assaulted her.

“I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes / Let me show you my true colors,” Kesha belted out during the number, saying nothing else and only singing the song’s lyrics — which seemed to speak volumes on their own.

This fan tweet seems to express it best:

Kesha is scheduled to perform next at Dylan Fest in Nashville, TN, in May.
