HBO unveiled a new teaser for its upcoming Anita Hill movie “Confirmation” on Friday.
The movie details the explosive 1991 Supreme Court nomination hearings for Clarence Thomas, which brought the country to a standstill and forever changed the way we think about sexual harassment, victims’ rights and modern-day race relations.
“They don’t care. They only want to win,” star Kerry Washington says in the teaser.
The “Scandal” star plays Anita Hill, who testified before Congress that Thomas had sexually harassed her. Hill’s accusations arose as Thomas was being considered to replace Thurgood Marshall on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Wendell Pierce plays Thomas and Greg Kinnear plays Senator Joe Biden. Jeffrey Wright, Eric Stonestreet and Jennifer Hudson also star.
“Confirmation” is written by Susannah Grant and directed by Rick Famuyiwa. It is set to premiere on April 16.
