Kelly Ripa Hosting 10th Annual TV Land Awards

Aretha Franklin will receive the Music Icon Award during the TV Land Awards ceremony, which will air on April 29

Kelly Ripa, host of "Live With Kelly," is making a foray into primetime to host the 10th annual TV Land Awards ceremony in New York City in April.

Kelly Ripa returns to host the TV Land AwardsRipa, who hosted the TV Land Awards in 2007, will return to lead the celebration at the Lexington Avenue Armory at Gramercy Park in New York on April 14, with the ceremony broadcast on TV Land on April 29.

R&B legend Aretha Franklin will receive the Music Icon Award during the show, and more honorees and musical performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Previous TV Land Award honorees include Ripa's former daytime co-host Regis Philbin, Michael J. Fox, Bill Cosby, Carl Reiner, the casts of "Family Ties," "The Cosby Show" and "Everybody Loves Raymond," while past presenters and performers have included Halle Berry, Barbara Walters, Justin Timberlake, Robin Williams, Liza Minnelli, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Willie Nelson.

"We are ecstatic to welcome back Kelly as she reprises her role as host of the TV Land Awards this year for our 10th annual celebration," said TV Land president Larry W. Jones in a network release.  "Her energy, enthusiasm and love of television make her the perfect person to lead the evening on the occasion of our 10th anniversary."

The 2011 TV Land Awards drew more than 2 million viewers, making it the network's highest-rated awards show since 2004.
