Kate Hudson was embarrassed when she didn’t recognize two key songs from her best-known movies on Thursday in the latest edition of Kelly Clarkson’s name-that-song game “Throw Me a Line.”

The actress and singer, who next stars in the Netflix series “Running Point,” was late to identify “You’re So Vain,” which she sang in the the 2003 romcom “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” and Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” which was pivotal to Cameron Crowe’s 2000 rock ‘n’ roll dramedy “Almost Famous.”

“Oh my god!” Hudson exclaimed when she realized she’s missed “Tiny Dancer.”

“That’s like the most famous scene in the movie and you f–ked it up!” Clarkson gloated, pointing in her face. (To be fair, both Clarkson and Hudson failed to identify “Tiny Dancer,” instead mistaking it for another ballad.)

Hudson successfully scored a point when she buzzed in first for Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.” She explained why she knew that song so well: “I was literally in labor, and I didn’t know where my family was, and it came on the playlist, and it reminded of my brother, because we used to love Bon Jovi.”

Despite the fact that Clarkson won this round, she told Hudson, “You really crushed your movies today.”

Clarkson famously lost a game to Anne Hathaway in 2023 when the “Princess Diaries” star named Clarkson’s own song “Since U Been Gone.” Clarkson threw herself on the ground, exclaiming, “This is embarrassing” and “Jesus take the wheel” in the clip that went viral.

“Kelly Clarkson, if you do not understand how much we all love that song. Everybody here knew it on the first one [beat],” Hathaway said at the time.

The “American Idol” winner struck out again in 2024 when she — as well as Hathaway — couldn’t name Clarkson’s song “Stronger.”

“Running Point,” in which Hudson plays a woman who is unexpectedly put in charge of her family’s pro basketball team, is now streaming on Netflix.
