Think you’re up to Herculean standards? The new Fox reality competition series “Bullseye” will challenge that merit when it premieres next month, hosted by Hercules himself, “Twilight” actor Kellen Lutz. (Apologies to Kevin Sorbo, Lou Ferrigno and The Rock.)
Comedian Godrey — A.K.A. the “7Up Guy” — is set to co-host the summer series, which comes from “Wipeout” and “Fear Factor” producers Endemol Shine North America. Jon Kroll and Scott Larsen serve as executive producers. Kevin Wehrenberg, J. Rupert Thompson and Shye Sutherland are co-executive producers.
The show will see four men and four women test their bodies and brains in three “ultimate challenges,” the broadcast network said on Wednesday. The goal is to hit the titular bullseye on land, over the sea and up in the air, with the competitors using their bodies as human darts. The winner leaves with $50,000.
The first challenge will find the eight competitors vying to hit the center of a stationary target while leaping from a moving 18-wheeler, being pulled by a helicopter or acting as a human slingshot being projected hundreds of feet through the air.
In Round 2, the remaining four competitors — two men and two women — race to hit as many targets as possible. They may be aiming for targets while descending down a building or jumping between two racing speedboats.
In the third and final challenge, the remaining three competitors race against the clock to conquer the ultimate test and hit the final — you guessed it — bullseye.
“I am a huge fan of extreme sports, and for me, nothing beats an adrenaline rush, which is why I am so excited to host this series,” said Lutz. “I love the concept of physicality and strategy combined with the most awesome challenges that will blow your mind.”
He continued, “I am looking forward to watching these competitors push themselves out of their comfort zones and I’ll be on the sidelines cheering them on, and probably wishing it were me trying to hit the ‘Bullseye!’”
Lutz, who also starred in “The Expendables 3,” can be seen next year opposite Bruce Willis in the action feature “Extraction.”
