Katy Perry is being slammed on Twitter (again) for a remark in which she mentioned both her “old black hair” and Barack Obama in the same sentence.
“Katy Perry really f—- tried it with that white ass joke,” tweeted one user. “What does Barack Obama have to do with your dry ass white hair?”
“Wow Katy Perry. The reference to former Pres. Obama was offensive & a poor, tasteless attempt at humor. Your privilege is showing,” another weighed in.
“katy perry compared barack obama to her ‘old black hair,’” tweeted another. “career cancelled.”
During an Instagram Live video, Perry responded to a fan’s comment about her black hair before she turned blonde.
“Oh someone says, ‘I miss your old black hair.’ Oh, really? Do you miss Barack Obama as well? Oh, OK. Times change. Bye! See your guys later,” she said, turning around to laugh with her friends.
People got angry on social media because Perry connected her former dark locks to the former president. However, a couple people rushed to Perry’s defense, telling the Twittersphere what they feel is the true meaning of Perry’s remarks.
Katy Perry meant she wants Obama back and can't have him same way ppl want her black hair and won't get it back … Christ ppl lol

The backlash comes two weeks after Perry was trolled on Twitter for posting a picture of a Hindu goddess to her Instagram profile with the caption “current mood.”
“This is a shameful and offensive act. You can’t compare yourself with The Great Goddess KALI MAA,” one user had said.
A representative for Perry has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.

Just note how the words "old" and "black" triggered an Obama retort. But Migos to boost her last trash single tho right? FOH. She's washed.

The Barack Obama jab is what made it seem racially charged but it doesn't matter to me Bc I've never really liked Katy Perry.
