In tonight’s episode of “Kate Plus Date,” Kate Gosselin’s eldest children, twins Mady and Cara, sit down with two of Kate’s favorite potential suitors — Jeff and Todd — to ask them the hard-hitting questions.
“This is an unusual dating environment, so why don’t we just make it more unusual?” Mady says in an exclusive clip obtained by TheWrap, which you can watch above. “She should have brought us on her first date.”
The twins dismiss their mother from the room and take it upon themselves to personally interview each of the men in order to find out how well they’d fit with their, um, rather large family. Some of their most probing questions include: Do you drink milk? Do you watch sports? And, most importantly, do you wear cargo pants?
“No shade to anyone who wears cargo pants, but no stepfather of mine will be in cargo pants,” Mady said.
Cara let Mady do most of the talking — she’s the harder sell, the one Kate’s dates really need to worry about impressing.
“Being willing to be essentially interviewed by a sampling, if you will, of my children, is brave,” Kate says. In addition to twins Mady and Cara, she has sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, and Leah with ex-husband Jon, to whom she was married for 10 years. The two starred on “Jon & Kate Plus 8” together with all eight of their children, but divorced in 2009, at which point the show was rebranded as “Kate Plus 8” — minus Jon.
The twins had one final, make-or-break question for Jeff and Todd: Do you want more children?
“No disrespect to any eligible bachelors with children, but we have enough children. If you love your children, great. If you have them, amazing. But please, don’t join our family.”
