“Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the hit CBS sitcom on Thursday — and sparked a flood of emotional comments from fans who aren’t ready to let the series go.

In an Instagram post Thursday, as the show prepared to air another episode of its 12th and final season, Cuoco shared a photo of herself and her castmates gathered close together, their smiles lighting up the shot.

“Don’t miss an all new @bigbangtheory_cbs coming at ya TONIGHT!” Cuoco wrote. “A little BTS before curtain call.”

The actress punctuated her comment with the hashtag, “#thefinalseason.”

A lovely photo and a perfectly nice sentiment — however, Cuoco’s comment seemed to jar many fans back to the realization that the show is, in fact, coming to a close..

“The show is not ready to end,” wrote one fan in the comments section. “There is so much to write about. You guys should strongly recommend not ending this season.”

“That hash tag is depressing,” observed another commenter.

“Can’t belive the show is over,” wrote another fan, who accentuated the comment with a crying-face emoji.

“Please please PLEASE find a way to NOT let this be the final season,” pleaded another fan.

“What? No! You guys can’t make a final season!” offered another fan.

“DON’T GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” read another, punctuation-heavy plea.

And then there were those who seemed to be caught unaware that the show is currently in its final season. (SPOILER ALERT: The show is currently in its final season.)

“Final season?” asked one fan, who added a string of crying emojis.

Alas, the current, 12th season of the series has been marked as its last, with Cuoco acknowledging as much herself in August, when the announcement was made.

Like the fans who commented on her post Thursday, Cuoco did so with no small amount of sadness.

In an Instagram post at the time, Cuoco said that, regardless of when the sitcom wrapped up, “my heart would have always been broken in two.”

“This ride has been a dream come true and as life changing as it gets. No matter when it was going to end, my heart would have always been broken in two,” Cuoco wrote. “Drowning in tears, we promise to bring you the best season yet.”

Break out the tissues and read Cuoco’s latest message below.
