It'll be Justin Bieber vs. Zach Galifianakis, the Arcade Fire vs. Johnny Cash and the Old Spice Guy vs. "True Blood" at the 15th annual Webby Awards, which announced its slate of nominees on Tuesday morning.
The nominees included just about every pop-culture phenom of the last year, plus a slew of Saturday Night Live alumni: Will Ferrell, Chevy Chase, Dan Ackroyd, Fred Armisen, Dana Carvey, Maya Rudolph, Jimmy Fallon and Cheri Oteri.
Bieber was nominated for the 2010 April Fools gag Justin Bieber Takes Over Funny Or Die, while Galifianakis was a multiple nominee for his web series Between Two Ferns.
Also in the lineup of nominees in the 24 categories: Ralph Macchio (Wax on F***), Isabella Rossellini (for Green Porno), the Onion News Network ("Police Slog Through 40,000 Insipid Party Pics to Find Cause of Dorm Fire"), the viral marketing for the series "Mad Men" and "True Blood," the retail sites Groupon and Living Social, and the Twitter and Tumblr communities.
Winners will be announced on May 3, and honored at a ceremony in New York City on June 13. The final vote will be made by judges that include Martha Stewart, Arianna Huffington and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone.
