“The Good Wife” star Julianna Margulies and “House of Cards” star Corey Stoll have signed on to guest star in multiple episodes of Showtime’s “Billions” when the drama returns for a fifth season in the Spring of 2020.
Margulies will play Catherine Brant, an Ivy League sociology professor and bestselling author, and Stoll will have a season-long arc as Michael Prince, a business titan from a small town in Indiana.
“Billions” stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis. The series is currently in production in New York and is set to return in 2020.
Margulies was most recently seen in “The Hot Zone,” a National Geographic mini-series produced by Ridley Scott. Her most notable roles have been Carol Hathaway on “ER” and Alicia Florrick on “The Good Wife.”
Stoll is known for playing Congressman Peter Russo in Netflix’s political drama “House of Cards,” as well as roles in “Homeland,” “The Strain,” “The Deuce” and “Girls.” His film credits include “First Man,” “Ant-Man,” “Café Society,” and a turn as Ernest Hemingway in “Midnight in Paris.”
According to Showtime, the fourth and most recent season of “Billions” found Bobby Axelrod (Lewis) and Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti), former enemies, and Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff), the chief counselor to each, coming together to form an uneasy but highly effective alliance aimed at the eradication of all their rivals, including Grigor Andolov (guest star John Malkovich), Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon), Bryan Connerty (Toby Leonard Moore) and Waylon “Jock” Jeffcoat (guest star Clancy Brown). “Billions” also stars David Costabile, Condola Rashad, Kelly AuCoin and Jeffrey DeMunn.
The series is created and executive produced by showrunners Brian Koppelman and David Levien. Andrew Ross Sorkin is also a creator.
