Julia Roberts becomes a revenge-seeking mother after finding her daughter dead in a dumpster in a new trailer for “Secret in Their Eyes.”
Roberts plays a member of a close-knit team of FBI investigators who discover the gruesome murder that hits way too close to home for all of them.
“My daughter was the thing that made me me,” Roberts says, and her partner played by Chiwetel Ejiofor listens.
The agent dedicates the next 13 years of his life to finding the necessary evidence to bring the killer to justice, and tries to convince the district attorney (Nicole Kidman) to re-open the case before Robert’s character takes matters into her own hands.
Director Billy Ray adapted the drama from Argentine director Juan José Campanella’s 2009 film “El secreto de sus ojos,” which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film the following year.
STX Entertainment will release “Secret in Their Eyes” in theaters Nov. 20.
