Producers Judd Apatow and Benderspink have hired Emmy-winning “South Park” writer Pam Brady to work on the screenplay for their Universal comedy “Business Trip,” TheWrap has learned.
Described as “The Hangover” with female leads, the story follows a group of women who go on a corporate trip but wind up doing anything but business while on company time.
Stacey Harman wrote the first draft of “Business Trip,” which Universal purchased as a pitch back in 2009 before Apatow and wife Leslie Mann boarded the project in June 2010.

The idea was originally conceived by former Benderspink exec Langley Perer and manager Jill McElroy following a spate of business trips.
Harman spent a couple years developing the screenplay with the producers before Brady boarded the project. Her deal to rewrite the screenplay closed several months ago and went unreported, though she has been actively working on the “Business Trip” script for the last six weeks. Her draft is expected to give the project renewed momentum.

Mann is still attached to star, and she’s coming off the box office hit “The Other Woman,” which grossed nearly $200 million worldwide.
Brady is already working with the actress, as she’s teaming with Lona Williams to co-write the DreamWorks comedy “Las Madres,” which will star Mann and Octavia Spencer.
Brady co-wrote both “South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut” and “Team America: World Police” with Trey Parker and Matt Stone. She also co-wrote the Sundance hit “Hamlet 2” with director Andrew Fleming, as well as the 2007 Andy Samberg vehicle “Hot Rod.” She’s repped by UTA, Mosaic and attorney Robert Offer.
