Jordan Peele’s Warning on Tiger Woods’ Golf Date With Trump: ‘Now You’re in the Sunken Place’

Will Woods “Get Out”?

Does Jordan Peele’s brilliance ever end? Nope, we don’t think so either.

The post-Thanksgiving news cycle included Trump’s tweeting Friday that he’ll be playing a quick round of golf with none other than Tiger Woods. That comment alone got the internet riled up, but also confused.

Peele had a perfect response to a story about the golf champ’s new buddy: “Now you’re in The Sunken Place,” the director tweeted along with a story about the match from the Golf Channel.

If you haven’t seen “Get Out” yet, you probably won’t get the joke, so let us explain:

In Peele’s hit movie from earlier this year, a young black man, played by Daniel Kaluuya, stumbles into a family gathering in which he’s being auctioned off (yes, eerily similar to a slave auction).

It turns out that this family, including his girlfriend (Allison Williams), with her parents and brother (Catherine Keener, Bradley Whitford and Caleb Landry Jones), routinely seduces black men and then performs brain transplants on them so that elderly or less-embodied white people can live in their bodies.

The Sunken Place is a trance-like state that Keener’s character woos Kaluuya into, and when the brain transplants are complete, that’s where the victims remain. It’s basically like floating in outer space, unable to control your body, while you watch life go on without you from afar.

Yeah, we don’t think it sounds fun, either.
