Major comedy players like Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel are now part of the WME-IMG family, with the acquisition of their collective rep Dixon Management by the sports and entertainment agency.
Company head James Dixon will remain autonomous and stationed in New York, where he’s operated since 2001, serving other clients like Adam Carolla and “Last Call!” host Carson Daly.
“James has built his business on two core philosophies that are intrinsic to WME-IMG,” Co-CEO Patrick Whitesell said in a statement: “a belief in great talent and applying an entrepreneurial approach to representation.”
“We look forward to extending his business even further through the resources [the company] has to offer across each of its divisions,” added Whitesell’s counterpart Ari Emanuel.
WME, a leading agency packed with leading Hollywood creatives, acquired IMG in the spring of 2014. It came with a stable of sports talent ranging from college football to pro tennis players, and it produces large-scale events like Fashion Weeks in New York, Berlin and Australia.
