Wow. "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart and correspondent John Oliver explained Thursday how Mitt Romney is a bit like a baby conceived during a rape — and why Republican voters should keep him.
They suggested that rival presidential candidate Rick Santorum is too honest for the party's tastes, citing his willingness to say things that other conservatives cloak in coded language. Santorum has said, for example, that a woman should not abort a fetus conceived during a rape — despite the horrible circumstances of its conception.

"I think the right approach is to accept this horribly created — in the sense of rape — but nevertheless gift," Santorum said in a clip. "We have to make the best out of a bad situation."
Stewart coined the can't-wash-it-out-of-your-brain term "rape baby" as he and Oliver talked about how Santorum's bluntness might make him unelectable. Oliver said Republicans are more likely to win the presidency with Romney.
"Not that the Republicans want Romney," Oliver added. "They just accept what God has given to them — this horribly created gift. And they'll make the best… of a bad situation."
