Is Jon Stewart a closet comic book guy?
It sort of seemed like it on Monday’s “Daily Show,” as he asked “X-Men: Days of Future Past” star James McAvoy a pretty insidery question about how the film adapted comics on which it is based.

“This is the one I’ve been waiting for,” Stewart said. “This is — for the ‘X-Men’ aficionado — this sequence is really the pinnacle of the ‘X-Men’ series.”
Then Stewart noted as an aside that in the film, Wolverine is sent back in time to contact the “X-Men” — and that in the comics it’s Kitty Pryde who travels through time.
“You’re a fan?” McAvoy asked.
“No, what?” Stewart said. “I’m a 51-year-old man, James, I mean come on. You think I sit around reading comic books? Just why didn’t they use Kitty Pryde? I was just surprised by that.”
“I don’t know why they sent Wolverine back. Probably because he’s played by Hugh Jackman who’s the single most charismatic man I think I’ve ever met in my life.”
McAvoy also said there’s something about the “X-Men” that lends itself to puns.
“I am just a walking dick joke,” he said.
