Jon Stewart says Chris Christie shouldn’t be surprised he was vindicated by a report showing he had no role in the Bridgegate scandal — because he commissioned the report.
On Monday’s “Daily Show,” Stewart imagined the New Jersey governor answering a question on Fox News: “You know, Megan, months ago I visited an oracle and killed a goat who read the entrails and saw in a vision that my handpicked legal team would write a report exonerating me of all wrongdoing,” Stewart said.

The report placed much of the blame on former top Christie aide Bridget Anne Kelly. Critics have said sexism is at play, because the report said that she “seemed emotional” and was “habitually concerned about how she was perceived by the governor.” It also said a boyfriend had recently ended a relationship with her.
The New York Times characterized the report as characterizing Kelly as “duplicitous, weeping frequently and dependent on men for approval and stability.”

Said Stewart: “That also explains very clearly why the official report was titled, ‘Bitches Be Crazy, Right?’”
The segment included a joke about the failed #CancelColbert movement. On the front page of the mockup of the report was the hashtag, “#CancelStewart.”
