Jon Stewart Mocks Arby’s for Job Offer: ‘Come for the Tweets, Run From the Meats’ (Video)

The fast food company offered the “Daily Show” host a job over Twitter on Tuesday after learning of his planned departure from the series

Arby’s got the free publicity it was looking for on Wednesday when Jon Stewart used the first two minutes of “The Daily Show” to respond to the fast food chain’s job offer.

“Jon, feel free to reach out to us at careers@arbys.com,” the company tweeted on Tuesday upon learning of Stewart’s departure from the Comedy Central faux news show he has hosted for the last 17 years.

Unfortunately, Stewart let his viewers know he doesn’t think too highly of Arby’s signature roast beef.

“I guess my only question as your employee, to work there would I have to handle, serve, touch eat or even look at what you so generously describe as food?” Stewart asked.

“That’s right, Arby’s, this motherf–king thing ain’t over,” Stewart continued. “I do not accept your peace offering. We shall always be enemies. For while you are a worthy adversary, you shall be vanquished.”

Stewart went as far as to give the company a new slogan:  “Arby’s: Come for the tweets, run from the meats.”

Stewart announced his departure from the steady hosting gig during Tuesday’s episode, during which he called the job “an absolute privilege.”

“It is time for someone else to have that opportunity,” Stewart said. “Not right away it’s going to be… we’re still working out details. It could be I’m up in September, might be around then, might be December, might be July.”
