Jon Nesvig Steps Down as Fox’s President of Sales

Media business veteran is the longest-serving chief sales executive at any broadcast or cable channel

After 40-years in the media business, Jon Nesvig announced on Thursday that he will step down as Fox's president of sales.

Nesvig has been at Fox for over 21 years, making him the longest-serving chief sales executive at any broadcast or cable channel.

“For the last 5 years I’ve used every trick I could think of to get Jon to stay,” said Tony Vinciquerra, chairman and CEO of Fox Networks Group. “But when we discussed it recently and he said it was time, I had no arguments left. For over 20 years he’s given us his very best, and now it's time to share him with his wife, Hanneke, the girls and his grandkids.”

Nesvig’s tenure spans most of the life of Fox Broadcasting. He joined the company as senior vice president of sales in 1989, when Fox was still only programming two nights a week.

Prior to Fox, he spent 15 years as a vice president in various sales capacities at NBC. He also worked at ABC Radio Network and Independent Media Services in New York, after beginning his career in the media department at the Benton and Bowles advertising agency.
