Jon Cryer Nearing Deal to Star in Ricky Blitt’s Comedy ‘Hit By Lightning’ (Exclusive)

After securing a hefty raise, "Two and a Half Men" star Jon Cryer is in final negotiations to star in the indie comedy "Hit By Lightning," which marks the feature directorial debut of former "Family Guy" writer-producer Ricky Blitt.

Blitt wrote the script, which is described as a cross between "The 40 Year-Old Virgin" and "Body Heat."

Cryer is nearing a deal to play a single fast food manager who finally finds love with the perfect woman, but there's a catch — she's married and wants him to kill her husband. Even though he's the sweetest guy who has never even killed a spider, he says 'yes.'

Cryer recently renegotiated his contract for the upcoming 11th season of "Two and A Half Men," is best known to movie fans for playing 'Duckie' in the classic John Hughes comedy "Pretty in Pink." His past feature credits include "Hot Shots!" and Robert Rodriguez's "Shorts," and he'll soon be seen in the underrated Sundance comedy "Ass Backwards."

Blitt is a longtime collaborator of the Farrelly brothers who wrote the 2005 Johnny Knoxville comedy "The Ringer," as well as a segment of Relativity Media's omnibus comedy "Movie 43." He also created the short-lived Fox series "The Winner," starring Rob Corddry.

Cryer is represented by UTA, Forward Entertainment and attorney David Fox. Blitt is repped by WME and Smart Entertainment.
