Is Johnny Depp's portrayal of faithful Lone Ranger sidekick Tonto for the birds? The first image from Disney's upcoming "The Lone Ranger" seems to suggest as much.
The sneak peek, issued by Disney today, portrays a makeup-covered Depp with a glare on his face and, well, a bird perched on his head. Those two facts might not be entirely unrelated.
As for Armie Hammer's Lone Ranger, he seems to have gone emo, with a black suit taking the place of the light blue ensemble favored by Clayton Moore.
The Gore Verbinski-directed "Lone Ranger" is scheduled for a May 31, 2013 release. In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts about Depp's take on Tonto in the comments section.
