Turns out, there isn’t just one actor who wants to impersonate Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live” — Johnny Depp would be open to it, too!
During an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday, Ellen DeGeneres remembered his appearance on the show one year ago when he did a Trump impression. She remembered how good it was and asked the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor whether he’d ever want to impersonate Trump on “SNL” — a role Alec Baldwin has filled for quite some time now.
“Sure,” Depp responded. “Alec’s done all the work, I can just copy him.”
The actor admitted to never seeing Baldwin’s performance as Trump, which shocked DeGeneres.
“Well, I’ve seen Trump do Trump, which is shocking to me,” he responded.
“I love the fact that he’s unable — even worse than me — he’s unable to actually formulate a sentence that becomes… vocabulary that actually works together,” Depp added about the president.
Depp will next be seen in “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” which opens May 26. The fifth film in the franchise also stars Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites.
