Okay, John Oliver didn’t think you’d actually buy his new children’s book about Vice President Mike Pence’s bunny, Marlon Bundo — and Amazon sold out of its stock in just one day.
But don’t get all hopped up, because Oliver says they are already working on a second printing of “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo” as we write.
“Unfortunately, we sold out, because we were not anticipating people really buying it,” the “Last Week Tonight” host told Ellen DeGeneres on her show Tuesday. “But you can buy it. They’re doing a reprint, so you can still buy it. You can buy the second printing. It will take a few weeks.”
An HBO spokesperson confirmed to TheWrap that the book — which is currently No. 1 on Amazon, beating out both the pre-order for James Comey’s book and Pence’s own Marlon Bundo tale — is in fact out of stock at the moment, but they do have another wave in the works.
Pence’s family released their children’s book Monday written from the perspective of the family’s pet rabbit, Marlon Bundo. Unfortunately for the nation’s second family, the HBO personality released his own version on Sunday. Oliver’s features a gay Bundo, by the way, and its sales and reviews are kicking the carrots out of Karen Pence’s publication.
