After a nationwide casting call, "The Sopranos" creator David Chase has tapped John Magaro, newcomer Will Brill and John Huston's grandson Jack to star in his still-untitled feature directorial debut, Paramount announced on Friday.
Steven Van Zandt, the E Street Band guitarist who played Silvio Dante on "The Sopranos," will exec produce the film and produce/supervise the music for the coming-of-age tale, which follows a group of suburban New Jersey guys making their way in the 1960s as a rock band called the Twilight Zones.
Paramount Vantage will release the picture, which is set to begin production in January in New York.
Seven-time Emmy winner Chase wrote the original screenplay and will produce with Oscar-winning producer Mark Johnson ("Rain Man").
Van Zandt continues to host his long-running syndicated radio show, "Little Steven's Underground Garage."
Magaro recently starred in Wes Craven's "My Soul to Take," and will soon be seen alongside "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini in the indie drama "The Last Kiddie Ride." He has previously appeared on the big screen in "The Brave One" and "The Box."
Huston (pictured right) last appeared in "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse." He co-starred on ABC's "Eastwick" and can currently be seen on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire." He is represented by UTA, The Collective and London's Ken McReddie Associates.
Magaro is represented by Abrams Artists Agency and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
Brill, who will make his feature film debut on the project, is repped by Stewart Talent Agency.
