The “Morning Joe” duo expressed strong opinions Friday in the aftermath of the cancelation of “The Interview” and ongoing developments in the Sony cyberattack.
“”I really am stunned that everybody’s capitulated, that Hollywood’s capitulated, that movie theaters have capitulated,” Joe Scarborough said. “We can’t let tyrannical governments, tyrannical weak governments across the world, dictate what movies we’re going to show on the Upper West Side!”
Mika Brzezinski disagreed with her co-host on it being so clear cut that Sony and movie theaters shouldn’t have canceled the movie, but then reacted to George Clooney, who formed a petition for Hollywood figures to sign in defense of Sony.
“Well I think that’s really nice of George Clooney while he’s vacationing in Sicily,” Brzezinski said about Clooney commenting about the movie.
“He’s not going to be at the theater, he’s not going to be at the theater,” Brzezinski said, then countered by Scarborough poking at her: “There’s is nothing more sad than watching somebody who vacations in the south of France [Mika] attack somebody who vacations in the south of Italy.”
