Jimmy Wopo, a rapper local to the Pittsburgh scene, died Monday in a double shooting, Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reports.
Wopo’s manager confirmed to the outlet, after initially reporting that the rapper was in critical condition following the shooting.
A second victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition, the outlet said.
According to CBS Pittsburgh, Wopo was 21 years old.
Wopo’s death comes shortly after news that Florida-based rapper and producer XXXTentacion had also been killed in a drive-by shooting outside Miami.
XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was shot in a drive-by shooting earlier in the day. He was transported to an area hospital where he lapsed into a coma and later died from his injuries, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed via Twitter.
According to the sheriff’s office, XXXTentacion was leaving RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida, shortly before 4 p.m. when he was approached by two armed suspects.
At least one of the suspects fired a gun, striking the rapper. Both of the suspects fled in a dark-color SUV. Investigators said it appears to be a possible robbery.
