There were many who spoke out against President Donald Trump’s decision to leave the Paris climate accord, but according to Jimmy Kimmel, he had one big-name supporter.
On “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night, the host spoke about the news during his opening monologue. He showed the audience how Trump built anticipation to his announcement (by tweeting about it) and then showed the speech itself.
“His message, the message he did deliver today was one of hope as in ‘I hope this terrible prank that America decided to play on itself is over soon,’” Kimmel said.
That’s when Kimmel cuts to video of Trump’s announcement on CNN, complete with an audience. While a lot of people didn’t agree with the President’s decision to leave the Paris climate accord, one person did — and he shows up in the stream.
As the Church Lady often says, “could it be Satan?” Yes, yes it is.
“I really hope that when the ice caps melt — it ruins every rug at Mar-a-Lago. I know that’s harsh, but it’s just how I feel.”
Kimmel went on to note that it wasn’t just environmentalists who were pushing the country to stay in the agreement. Companies like Walmart and Exxon Mobil were for staying.
“Apparently these big companies ran the numbers and, it turns out, if climate change destroys human life on Earth, it could be bad for business,” Kimmel said.
