Jimmy Kimmel launched a talent competition show on Thursday to end all talent competition shows — because it makes a complete mockery of all talent competition shows.
The late-night comedian asked people who are desperate to be famous to come out and audition for “Do You Have What It Takes?”
While it certainly sounds like the name of Fox’s next search for an American idol, he never actually specifies what “it” is that they’re looking for.
Instead, Kimmel and fellow judges Malcolm-Jamal Warner (“The Cosby Show”), former “Bachelorette” contestant Ali Fedotowsky and former TLC singer Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas make most of their judgements before the contestant even shows off their talent.
“I’m good talking to people and listening to people,” one contestant said in the first episode (above). “That’s about it.”
“I think you might have what it takes,” Kimmel said. “I’m going to send you through.”
