A day after the release of a huge number of files related to the investigation into the assasination of President John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Kimmel felt kind of bad for people hoping it would reveal some shocking new information.

“I’m tired. I didn’t get much sleep last night, I was up, I read all 64,000 pages of the JFK files last night. Turns out? He was murdered,” Kimmel quipped, adding, “I would imagine that the conspiracy crowd is none too pleased today.”

“I’m not sure we learned anything from these documents, other than the names and social security numbers of government workers, many of whom are still alive and about to find out what it’s like to have their identities stolen,” he continued. “But who cares, right? Trump said no redactions! So, no redactions!”

Kimmel continued by noting that the documents released all support the explanation that Lee Harvey Oswald was the only shooter.

“There’s no evidence of a second gunman. Which means Ted Cruz’s father is off the hook. That’s good,” Kimmel joked, referring to the weird conspiracy theory advanced by Roger Stone that the Texas senator’s father, Raphael Cruz, was somehow involved in killing JFK.

But Kimmel also noted that “all Trump did was make a big mess,” because the files he made a big deal about were largely the same ones Joe Biden released in 2023.

“But these were totally disorganized. Apparently, Trump surprised his people with this. National Security officials had to pull an all-nighter after Dopey announced on Monday that he would release the files the next day. Suddenly, they had 24 hours to get it together and they did get it together,” Kimmel said. “Great hustle, guys and hey, now that we know how fast you are, let’s see those Epstein files you promised.”

“I mean, I’m not a betting man but, I would bet they’ll take time to make redactions from those,” Kimmel added.
