Jimmy Kimmel Guarantees Victory Over ‘Greasy Blobfish’ Ted Cruz in Basketball Showdown (Video)

The late-night host “cannot imagine any scenario” in which he loses to that “Ted man walking”

Once the NBA season is over, “our nation” can look forward to a one-on-one basketball game between Jimmy Kimmel and Sen. Ted Cruz, the late-night host said. This battle on the hardwood is really happening and Kimmel “cannot imagine any scenario” in which he loses.

On Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” the late-night host announced the hoops competition that the Texas politician challenged him to last week will come to fruition.

“In case you don’t know, Ted was unhappy that I compared him to a blobfish, even though, in fairness to me, he looks just like one. He should be mad at his parents,” Kimmel said while explaining the ongoing situation.

So Cruz challenged Kimmel to take it up on the court, and the host accepted. However, Kimmel pointed out that after Cruz lost an election to a reality show host, maybe he wouldn’t feel great if he lost a basketball game to a late night host.

Cruz responded on Twitter, “Fair point, but GAME…ON.”

Well, then. They’re still working out the details, but the game is happening Father’s Day weekend and Kimmel says he truly cannot think of a way in which he will lose to that “greasy blobfish.” And that’s even after sharing that Cruz played varsity basketball in high school — and he played the clarinet.
