Are you curious what Donald Trump has to say about “Anora” or “Emilia Pérez”? Then Jimmy Fallon has your back. On Thursday night, the NBC host shared some of Trump’s totally real and not at all made up reviews of the buzziest contenders this Oscars season.
The comedian started off the segment with Timothée Chalamet’s “A Complete Unknown.” “I thought that was going to be about JD Vance,” Fallon’s version of Trump said.
“Dune: Part Two” led to the sitting president declaring that the U.S. will be invading Arrakis to take its spice. For “Emilia Pérez,” Fallon/Trump said that he “hated” the movie… “until I read the lead actress’s old tweets.” As for “Anora,” the Mikey Madison drama received a long review.
“A Russian oligarch’s son marries a stripper — you had me at ‘Russian,’ had me again at ‘oligarch,’ lost me at ‘son,’ then had me at ‘stripper,’” fake-Trump said.
However, the best review in the segment went to “Wicked.” “The actress had to paint her entire body a different color every day. I totes could relate,” Fallon’s Trump noted.
The “Tonight Show” host started off his monologue by riffing about the Oscars, noting that 10 movies have been nominated for Best Picture: “‘Wicked’ and nine others.” He was also skeptical after telling his studio audience that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are expected to perform at the awards ceremony.
“I don’t know, does ‘Wicked’ really work on stage?” he joked.
