Things looked rosier last month, when Carrey hired a plane to write "J (heart) J" above their Brentwood home on Valentine’s Day.
Carrey, 48, and McCarthy, 37, together became active in the debate about the causes of autism, supporting the notion that it’s caused by vaccines. McCarthy’s 7-year-old son was diagnosed with autism in 2005.
