Apparently, everything is funnier with fake arms. That’s a lesson Jimmy Fallon has learned, and he used it again on Tuesday night’s show. It helps when he has guests who go all in, as “Dumb and Dumber To” co-stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels did.

They set up the bit as a Canadian soap opera the three of them starred in together long ago. Back then, neither Carrey nor Daniels would allow their real arms to be used, and so everyone was forced to use fake arms. And so the scene was set for a flashback of absurd portions.

The setting was a diner, with Fallon as the customer. Carrey and Daniels were behind the counter when Fallon ordered a cheeseburger and fries. All that was left was for the co-stars to figure out how to put his order together while holding mannequin arms.
Things did not go well. Particularly when Daniels decided it would be easier to just scoop the fries out of the deep fryer with his bare (fake) hand. He got the fries out, but his hand wasn’t looking so good by the time he was done.

Meanwhile, Carrey completely pulverized a grill full of hamburgers and cheeseburgers, turning it into a mass of crumbled beef chunks. And yet, the final product was truly a thing of beauty. What would have sent it over the top would have been if Fallon had to figure out how to eat the meal with his own fake arms.
