Jessica Rodriguez is the new senior VP of Univision Cable Networks, the company announced Thursday.
Rodriguez has been with Univision since 2001, and most recently served as VP, special assistant to the president of Univision Networks.
In her new position, Rodriquez will oversee Univision's cable portfolio, which includes Galavision and the TuTv Networks, which include De Pelicula, De Pelicula Clasico and Telehit, among others.
Rodriguez will work from the company's Miami branch, reporting to Univision Networks president Cesar Conde.
In the company's release announcing the promotion, Conde said, "Jessica’s strategic vision, understanding of Hispanic audiences, passion for programming and creativity will allow us to continue to deliver on our programming leadership.”
The promotion comes at a time of upheaval for Univision, which in recent weeks has seen the departure of both president and CEO Joe Uva and sales executive Peter Lazarus.
