Major League Baseball star Matt Garza just pitched an idea to Jessica Chastain: Try abstinence if you’re worried about affordable birth control.
The Milwaukee Brewers pitcher recommended “the best contraceptive” in response to one of the actress’ tweets complaining about the Senate’s vote against an amendment, introduced by Democratic representatives, that would require insurance companies to cover birth control for women.
It's called abstinence, a word that has been forgotten amongst this generation… it's the best contraceptive… #juatsaying https://t.co/OgKg1qQmln

Chastain has not yet responded to the father of six, but others have tweeted at Garza to point out that birth control pills have more benefits than preventing unwanted pregnancy.

Chastain, an outspoken women’s rights advocate, is planning on participating in the Women’s March on Washington, and is using her Twitter to rally others to the cause, which already has Cher, Julianne Moore, Katy Perry, Amy Schumer, Scarlett Johansson and America Ferrera on board to help women takeover the nation’s Capitol on Jan 21. About 200,000 people are expected to take part.
I am marching to protect the disenfranchised. I stand with you for reproductive choice, wage equality, and freedom from sexual violence. https://t.co/yMXPPlIl4j
