The tributes keep rolling in for comedy giant Garry Shandling, who died Thursday at age 66 — and sometimes the tribute comes with a handy tune-in reminder.
Jerry Seinfeld‘s wife, Jessica, fondly remembered Shandling on Thursday night, specifically through the prism of her husband’s Crackle series, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.”
“We have been crying/laughing/crying through Jerry’s last day with Garry all afternoon,” Seinfeld wrote on Instagram. “There is no better tribute and no better reminder of what a beautiful, gentle, BRILLIANT sweet angel Garry Shandling was.”
The tribute was accompanied by the URL for the episode.
Shandling’s installment of the episode, oddly enough, was titled “It’s Great That Garry Shandling Is Still Alive.” In it, Shandling jokingly describes his funeral plans: “An actual boxing referee to do a count, and at 5 just wave it off and say, ‘He’s not getting up.’”
As Shandling explains in the episode, the title was inspired from a conversation he had while recently receiving a CT scan.
Since we’ve been reminded anyway, let’s watch the Shandling episode of “Comedians in Cars” here.
