Jennifer Lawrence will serve as a presenter at this year’s Oscar show, making her the first named by show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
As last year’s Best Actress winner for “Silver Linings Playbook,” Lawrence is part of the group of acting winners who are traditionally the first presenters announced each year. The other winners last year were Daniel Day Lewis for “Lincoln,” Christoph Waltz for “Django Unchained” and Anne Hathaway for “Les Miserables.”

The announcement that Lawrence will present came about an hour after Oscar voting opened. Lawrence is nominated again this year for her supporting performance in “American Hustle,” making her the youngest three-time nominee in Oscar history. She was also nominated for “Winter’s Bone.”
The 86th Academy Awards – or simply “The Oscars,” to use the ageless moniker preferred by Zadan and Meron – will take place on Sunday, March 2 at the Dolby Theatre, and will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
