Jennifer Lawrence, ‘Gravity’ Are Most-Tweeted Oscar Nominees – ’12 Years,’ Jared Leto Are Most-Facebooked

Ellen selfies weren’t the only things shared on social media Sunday

The most-tweeted about Oscar nominee during Sunday night telecast was “American Hustle” actress Jennifer Lawrence, according to a report released by Twitter.

Lawrence drew much attention from social media onlookers when she took a tumble on the red carpet after getting out of her limo. E! caught the moment live. Later on in the show, she helped host Ellen DeGeneres break the Twitter record for most retweets with an epic selfie that was retweeted more than 2 million times.

Besides the clumsy starlet’s many Twitter mentions, rounding out the other top tweeted Oscar nominated notables included Brad Pitt, Gravity filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock.

“Gravity” was also a top-tweeted Oscar nominee, as it picked up the most trophies of the night, majority from technical awards.

Overall, there were more than 14.7 million tweets related to Sunday’s awards show, Twitter said.

Of course, Twitter is not the only social media game in town. The much larger Facebook network had 11.1 million users share over 25.4 million interactions (posts, comments and likes). The top social moments on Facebook were, in order: “12 Years a Slave” wins Best Picture, Jared Leto wins Best Supporting Actor and thanks his mom, and his co-star Matthew McConaughey wins Best Actor.

Rounding out the Top 5 moments were Bette Midler singing “Wind Beneath My Wings,” and pizza being served to the Dolby Theater celebs.

Facebook also measured the demo of which groups were talking most about the awards show. Here are those rankings:
