Jenna Fischer just won Throwback Thursday.
The actress shared a photo of a very young-looking cast of “The Office” from the sitcom’s first table read (“The Office” premiered on NBC March 24, 2005).
Fischer is seen smiling next to John Krasinski, who played her on-screen love interest Jim Halpert. They’re pictured on set with co-stars Rainn Wilson (Dwight Shrute), Steve Carrell (Michael Scott), Phyllis Smith (Phyllis Vance), BJ Novak (Ryan Howard), and Devid Denman (Roy).
Fischer’s throwback could be hinting at a desire to reboot the series — “I would be honored to come back in any way I’m able to,” she said at TCA back in January. “I loved playing the character, and as long as Greg Daniels is the person in charge and the visionary behind it, then I’m absolutely [in]… we’d just have to get Mindy [Kaling] to write some episodes, B.J. Novak … that show was so great because of the talent involved in the show, behind the scenes, not just [on screen].”
As for “A Quiet Place” star/director Krasinski — who’s also the newest Jack Ryan over on Amazon — he would love to “get that gang back together,” too. But no one’s gotten any phone calls about reuniting the employees of Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch.
“I don’t want to be coy,” said NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt in May about a possible reboot of the beloved series. “I’m probably the one that’s putting stuff out there that shouldn’t be. It’s probably best I don’t talk about it.”
Fischer currently stars opposite Oliver Hudson on ABC’s “Splitting Up Together,” which returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
