Look, Jenna Fischer can’t give you back Jim and Pam. She just can’t. Well, unless that revival of “The Office” actually comes to fruition.
But until then, the actress would like to encourage you to set aside your hardcore feelings for the world’s greatest co-working couple — and “hate watch” her new onscreen relationship with Oliver Hudson.
Fischer and her “Splitting Up Together” co-star appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show on Wednesday to promote the new ABC sitcom and brag about their chemistry, which apparently comes close to rivaling what she had with John Krasinski for nine seasons of NBC’s workplace comedy.
And of course, Jim and Pam fans are already having none of this, with Hudson saying he’s already received some “hate tweets.”
“I really think people are going to be won over,” Fischer said. “I really do. I think this relationship, people are going to get just as invested in it. I believe in it. And I think that if you — I know it’s making people angry, but I think they should just hate watch the show. Just hate watch, be mad. And then all of a sudden you’re gonna fall in love.”
Hmm, we’ll see.
