Jen Psaki clapped back at President Donald Trump’s communications director Steven Cheung on Thursday after he called her out online over left-behind stationary items that were personalized with her name.

“A relic of the past found in a random cabinet in the White House. Apparently @jrpsaki was soooooo important she had personalized note cards made to remind people how ‘important’ she was,” Cheung tweeted on X on Thursday. Cheung uploaded a photo of sheets of paper that had Psaki’s name embossed.

Welcoming the sparring session, Psaki threw some shade right back, pointing out that Cheung should be concerned with more crucial issues, like the price of groceries and childcare.

“Would hope you had more important things to worry about (you know the cost of eggs, childcare, veterans waiting for care … could literally go on),” Psaki said while explaining her intention behind customized letter headed paper. “But hey, since you raised it, I purchased these myself to write notes to colleagues and staff to thank them for their work and also to write back to people who wrote me including kids. How dare I!”

Elsewhere, the former White House press secretary’s MSNBC series “Inside With Jen Psaki” has moved to the primetime spot, now airing Tuesday through Friday at 9 p.m. EST. Veteran host Rachel Maddow will return following President Trump’s first 100 days in office to host the 9 p.m. hour on Mondays.

Trump selected Cheung, who previously served the president in the same capacity during his 2024 campaign, as his administration’s communications director back on Nov. 15.

“Steven Cheung and Sergio Gor have been trusted advisors since my first presidential campaign in 2016, and have continued to champion America First principles throughout my first term, all the way to our historic victory in 2024,” Trump said, per CNN, while also announcing Sergio Gor as his director of the Presidential Personnel Office. “I am thrilled to have them join my White House as we Make America Great Again!”
