Based on the British series "The Great British Bake Off," the reality show will feature skilled amateurs competing in baking challenges with one ultimately being crowned the winner.
Paul Hollywood, a judge on the British series, also will serve as a judge on the U.S. version, along with chef Marcela Valladolid.
Foxworthy, who rose to fame with his observational humor about the more Appalachian segment of American society, has proven to be quite successful as a game-show host. In addition to his run on Fox's "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" he also hosts GSN's "American Bible Challenge," which begins its second season March 21.
