Jean-Claude Van Damme has responded to the deadly terrorist attacks in his homeland — and it doesn’t involve delivering a kick to anybody’s head.
The action-film star, who gained fame as “The Muscles From Brussels,” weighed in on the Brussels attacks with a heartfelt expression of sorrow.
In the message, Van Damme told his followers, “I can’t begin to explain the pain in my heart right now.” At least 34 people were killed in the attacks.
“My heart goes out to the victims, their families and all the people of my home country Belgium on this sad, sad day,” Van Damme wrote. “I can’t begin to explain the pain in my heart right now… Let’s pray for our world my brothers and sisters.”
The actor and martial artist ended the post, “Love Jean-Claude Van Damme.”
The message was accompanied by a graphic of a heart bearing the colors of the Belgian flag and the message, “Pray for our world.”
Since news of the attacks broke, a number of celebrities have expressed their sympathy and support for Belgium, including Amy Schumer, Ellen DeGeneres and George Takei.
