Jason O’Mara will star in the upcoming Fox time-travel drama "Terra Nova."
"Terra Nova" is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brannon Braga and David Fury.
O’Mara will play Jim Shannon, the patriarch of a family from the future who must travel back to prehistoric times to save the human race. Along the way, Shannon and his family find themselves faced with dinosaurs and the space-time continuum.
"Terra Nova" isn’t O’Mara’s first project involving time travel. He starred as a modern-day cop who finds himself transported to the ’70s on the ABC series "Life on Mars," which was canceled in April 2009. O’Mara also is set to star in Lionsgate’s planned bounty hunter flick "One for the Money" alongside Katherine Heigl.
