Jason Alexander has joined the cast of Fox’s comedy pilot “Richard Lovely.”

Alexander, who played George Costanza on “Seinfeld,” will lend his voice to the animated character Mr. Mouse and star opposite Thomas Lennon (“Reno 911!”).

Richard Lovely is the disgruntled author of a hit series of children’s books called “Mr. Mouse”  — even though he’s no fan of children. After a publicity fiasco involving an interaction with a clever nine-year-old, Mr. Mouse begins to appear in Lovely’s real life, and he is forced into an odd father-son relationship.

Alexander joins previously announced cast members including Wendie Malick, Nicole Sun, Asif Ali, Nicole Richie, Mason Shneiderman, Kai Cech, and Thom Nemer.“Richard Lovely” is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, and executive produced by Billy Finnegan, Alex Hardcastle and Kat Coiro. Finnegan will write and Hardcastle will direct.

He has also directed stage productions including “The God of Hell” at the Geffen Playhouse, “Broadway Bound” at the Odyssey, and “Damn Yankees.”

Alexander also tours the world performing his one-man show, “As Long As You’re Asking, a Conversation with Jason Alexander,” which contains music, comedy and conversation.

Alexander is repped by Carol Yumkas at Yumkas Entertainment, James Murray at Abrams Artists, Marc Golden at Gendler-Kelly.
