Jared Leto is risen on Twitter’s trending topics on Monday, thanks to his decidedly Christlike appearance at the Met Gala in New York City.

The actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars musician hit the soiree adorned in a crown and ornate vestments, in keeping with this year’s theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & the Catholic Imagination.”

Leto’s expression of his imagination quickly gained the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor praise on social media.

“Jared Leto been WAITIN for his moment to be white Jesus. Poised and ready,” wrote one observer.

Wrote another, “all the men so far at this event dressed so boring and not even matching the theme and then here comes Jared Leto as our lord and savior Jesus. blessed my tl, my soul has been baptized.”

“Rihanna and Jared Leto saved the #MetGala,” read another assessment.

“We got all these men acting like it’s hard to follow a theme and basically wearing the same thing as each other, meanwhile Jared Leto is following the theme and looking like Jesus #MetGala,” was a similar reaction.

“Jared Leto is setting the bar pretty high for the guys #METGala,” another admirer posted.

In fairness, not everyone was a fan of Leto’s choice. Such as the critic who observed, “Jared Leto looks like the creepy Burger King mascot in the commercials.”
