Janet Jackson Bails on Tour to Make a Baby, and Fans Flip Out

Janet Jackson gave birth to quite the uproar on social media on Wednesday.

The singer announced via Twitter that she is postponing the rest of her Unbreakable tour to start a family with her husband, business magnate Wissam Al Mana, prompting a flood of congratulations, shock and smart-assery from her fans.

In a video message, Jackson, 49, announced that she would delay the rest of the road jaunt.

“My husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour,” Jackson said, adding that she would be resting up under “doctor’s orders.”

“Please if you could try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders,” Jackson said. “But I have not forgotten about you, I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Jackson didn’t specifically say if she is currently pregnant or not, though a number of fans interpreted the message as such. But an uprising of emotions was certainly born on Twitter.

Amid the expected flood of congratulations were a number of witticisms.

“Janet Jackson shocks the world by getting pregnant at 49 while using the Rhythm Nation Method,” one wag offered.

Another chimed in, “Janet Jackson married to a billionaire. I know her eggs in deep freeze in an level 9 underground fortress in Dubai.”

Another tweeter defended Jackson over her choice, chastising fans who are upset about the tour postponement: “People mad at Janet Jackson like she owes it to them to not try to have a healthy pregnancy.”

Still another offered advice on how Jackson could make her pregnancy a two-fer.

“Janet Jackson eat alot of sweet potatoes and drink alot of Fenugreek tea and Raspberry tea.You may get TWINS or more,” the helpful fan offered.
