“Glee” star Jane Lynch has been tapped to host the 66th Annual DGA Awards, which will take place Jan. 25 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
Directors Guild of America president Paris Barclay praised Lynch’s stature — literally — in the announcement naming her as host.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jane Lynch as host of the DGA Awards for the very first time,” said Barclay. “I have known Jane for years, and have envied her quick wit — and her extraordinary height. She always makes the job of directing her a joy, and I look forward to her helping us honor the year’s best in film and television.”
Though this will mark the first time that Lynch has hosted the DGA Awards, the actress has hosted the Emmy Awards and presided over Comedy Central’s roast of Roseanne Barr.
Over the years, the non-televised DGA Awards have become closely identified with the rambling, conversational hosting style of writer-director Carl Reiner, who hosted the show 23 times before Kelsey Grammer took over two years ago.
