Oh my, God. They are going to get around to the second “Psych” movie, so would you get off James Roday’s back already?
The “A Million Little Things” star was asked about the status of the USA Network series’ much-buzzed about second small screen flick, while sitting on the panel for his new ABC series during the Television Critics Association press tour Tuesday. And the “Pscyh” alum said it’s going to happen. OK? But he doesn’t know when yet.
“Yes, the answer is yes,” Roday told reporters who asked if he was still planning on doing a follow-up TV movie, despite his new work schedule for “A Million Little Things.” “We’ll figure out a way to do it. All the pieces are still there and everybody wants to do it. We gotta get Tim Omundson back to the ‘Pscyh’ world. So we’ll figure it out.”
“Psych,” was created by Steve Franks, and starred Roday as Shawn Spencer, a fake psychic detective who helps the police solve crimes. In actuality, he and his best friend Burton “Gus” Guster (Dulé Hill) use honed observational skills which can convince people that his powers are supernatural.
Roday, Hill, and more of the original cast previously reunited for a two-hour TV film called “Psych: The Movie,” which debuted in December 2017 on USA, and picked up three years after the 2014 series finale and an eight-season run.
