James McAvoy Gets Shaved Bald for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ (Photo)

Actor loses his locks in preparation for Charles Xavier role

We know how it is, James McAvoy; you ask for a little off the top, and the next thing you know your overzealous hair stylist has you sporting the Telly Savalas look.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” director Bryan Singer took to Instagram to post a photo of McAvoy going chrome-dome style for the upcoming film. The actor will be reprising his role as Charles Xavier in the film, and while previous installments of the film have found McAvoy with his locks intact, this time around he will apparently be rocking the cueball, in accordance with traditional portrayals of Xavier.

“X-Men: Apocalypse,” which is slated for a May 27, 2016 release, stars McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

With production underway on the film, Singer has been generous in giving fans sneak peeks of what’s to come. Late last month, Singer offered a first look at Sophie Turner and Lana Condor, rocking ’80s styles as mutants Jean Grey and Jubilee, respectively. He also briefly shared a shot of Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, before deleting the image in a tribute to the character’s power of teleportation.
